Rhinoplasty (Nose Job)

Is a bump or ridge on your nose making you shy away in social situations? Rhinoplasty may be the solution to your confidence!

Rhinoplasty is a surgical procedure to change the shape of the nose. This includes straightening, hump removal, nose-tip reshaping or addressing breathing difficulties.

How is the procedure performed?

Incisions are made inside the nostrils to allow remodelling. Some rhinoplasty operations require the incision to be made across the columella (skin between the nostrils). These incisions allow access to reshape the cartilage, bones and septum. It is an overnight hospital procedure which takes approximately two hours and is performed under general anaesthetic.

Recovery

The nose is packed overnight and a splint is used over the nose for one week. Bruising is expected, and may spread around the eye area. Patients are advised to avoid contact sports for one month and advised to have two weeks off work.
