A neck lift is a surgical procedure to improve the neck contour by removing excess sagging skin or fat deposits.
How is the procedure performed?
A small incision is made just under the chin and excess fat is removed. The platysma muscle is also stitched and tightened, leaving the neck taut. If excess skin needs removal, an incision behind the ear is also made. A neck lift is an overnight hospital procedure taking approximately two and half hours. A drain may be required and the procedure is performed under general anaesthetic.
Recovery
Some bruising and swelling is expected post-surgery. A chin trap is worn for two weeks and patients are advised to have two weeks away from work.
