Profractional Laser

If you would like a gentle treatment for your skin, the Profactional laser can help you with a series of treatments…

Profactional laser treatment is milder than a full facial re-surface, requiring less down time, however requiring more frequent treatments.

How is the procedure performed?

Where laser-resurfacing penetrates the full surface area of the skin, a pro-fractional treatment ensures that only a fraction of the skin is targeted at one time. The body’s natural healing process stimulates the production of new collagen in the treated zones, making the skin’s appearance plump and smoothing-out wrinkles and fine scars.

A lighter experience

A benefit of Profactional laser treatment is that it can be commenced at varying depths and we can customise the treatment to your needs during your free consult!

Procedure time

The procedure for a full face generally takes about 45 minutes to an hour. A topical anaesthetic needs to be applied at least 45 minutes before the procedure, in order to minimise any discomfort. In some cases one profractional laser treatment may be sufficient. However three treatments completed four to six weeks apart are generally recommended.

Recovery

After the procedure, the treated area will have the same sensation as mild sunburn and some pin point bleeding.  It is generally recommended to take at least five days away from work. The deeper the profractional treatment, the longer the recovery needs to be. After the procedure, Vaseline is applied to the treated area, acting as a barrier while new skin regenerates. Any redness and swelling will subside around four days after the procedure and at this stage makeup and light moisturisers may be applied.
